Lawyer For Hector "Macho" Camacho Shooter Arrested by FBI





Attorney Lemuel Velilla, known for defending one of the suspects in the
murder of boxer Hector Camacho, was arrested this morning by the FBI.
His law offices in Bayamon were also raided by authorities. No reason
has been given as of yet for the arrest or the raid.

Reggeaton Singer Don Omar Out On Bail


Noticel.com reports that  singer Don Omar (real name William Omar Landron)
has paid a fraction of the $600,000 bail imposed by the court after his arrest
on domestic violence charges. Don Omar was charged with two counts of 
violating firearms laws and four counts of domestic abuse. Judge Jessica 
Morales of the Bayamon District Court granted the victim and girlfriend of
the singer a restraining order, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for 
September 29th. 

Ingrid Vila Resigns From Governor's Office, Denies "Triggers"


Secretary of the Governorship Ingrid Vila is resigning her position effective October 1st of this year. Vila denied that there were any particular triggers that prompted her abrupt resignation, and that she plans to dedicate her time to working in the private sector after leaving the administration of PPD  Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla.

Moody's Downgrades Power Company Bonds

Ratings agency Moody's cut $8.8 billion of Puerto Rico Electric Power 
Authority's (PREPA) revenue bonds further into junk on Wednesday,
 saying bondholders could lose up to 35 percent of their investment if 
PREPA defaults. Moody's cut its ratings on the bonds to 'Caa3' from 
'Caa2' and said any restructuring  at the troubled utility could be 
influenced by political considerations, adding that  were risks around 
the utility's plans to convert its fuel supply.

Juncos Man Jailed For Abuse of Nephew


Jonathan Algarín Martínez, age 26, a resident of the town of Juncos, was
arrested by Puerto Rico Police for sexually abusing his 3-year-old male
nephew, according to El Vocero. San Juan Disctrict Court judge Edgar
Figueroa imposed a $500,000 bond. Martínez is currently detained in
the Bayamon Regional Jail.
